Upcoming Spring and Summer Events:

       In May we began selling raffle tickets with the grand prize a 1920’s style Fire Engine pedal car.  The tickets are $1.00 each.  During the week the engine will be on display at Coldwell Banker Bain office in downtown Edmonds.  Tickets can be purchased at their office.  Starting in June the foundation members will be selling tickets at most of the Saturday Garden and Summer Markets. Winners will be drawn at the Summer Market on September 27^th.  Be sure to buy your tickets.

     On July 4 we will have our booth at City Park.  We will be selling pop, cookies, chips, Paige Lizbeth’s yummy caramel corn, foundation T-shirts and books and DVDs of the history of the Edmonds Fire Department.  Come down to the park following the parade and enjoy the Water Ball Competition sponsored by the Edmonds Firefighters Association.  Plan to drop by our booth.  All funds support the men and women of the Edmonds Fire Department.

     Mark your calendar on July 25 and 26 for the Annual Garage Sale.  The sale will be from 9:00 to 4:00 each day at 520 Forsyth Lane, Edmonds. The sale is well attended so plan to come take home some great treasurers.  We are accepting items for the garage sale now. Think of us when you are doing your spring cleaning and donate your good used items.  Call Greg Jorgenson (425-772-8115) or email Mark Foote at jefe12@comcast.net to make arrangements for collections of your items.  We can not accept clothes, shoes, large pieces of furniture, computer equipment, large TV’s and exercise equipment because of limited storage space.

February 2008 Election of Officers: The annual election of foundation officers was held at the February 5, 2008 meeting.  Officers for the next year are: President – Greg Jorgenson, Vice-President – Pirie Hart, Secretary – Paula Cain, and Treasurer – Jenny Jorgenson.  Jenny has taken over the duty as treasurer from Joy Cain.  Joy has served as treasurer since the foundation was established in 1996. Thank you, Joy, for the great job over the 11 years.

New Board Members:  We are fortunate to have four new board members. Jenny Jorgenson joined the board in June 2007. Julene Tomberg became a board member in February 2008.  At the April, 2008 board meeting, Ralph and Pamela Young became the recent board members.  We welcome them all.

2007 EFSF Annual Raffle Winners: The Edmonds Fire Safety Foundation had another successful fundraising raffle.  On September 29, 2007 the winning tickets were drawn at the EFSF raffle location at the Summer Market in downtown Edmonds.
