The 2008
Fundraising Season was a Great Success
and the 2009 Season is Off to a Great Start!
Go to the Fund-Raising
page for more information on the events planned for
2009.
Thank
you to the Edmonds community
for supporting the EFSF fund-raising events again during 2008. The funds that
were raised allowed the foundation to purchase a RAD-57 Signal Extraction Pulse
Co-Oximeter to measure blood carbon monoxide levels and to contribute a
significant amount toward the purchase of special protective eye wear for all
the members of the Edmonds Fire Department.

The
Pop in-the Park Booth
on July 4th
was a success! The weather was beautiful and we had a great
crowd at the park to watch
the annual Water Ball Competition sponsored by the Edmonds Volunteer
Firefighters. |
|
 |
Pop,
chips, cookies, caramel corn, and foundation T-shirts were for sale during the competition. As always the kids had a great time getting
wet from the spray during the water ball battles. FUN was had
by all! We want to thank
the following sponsors: Mike’s Deli-Mart, Paige Lizbeth’s Caramel Corn,
Petosa’s, QFC, Safeway and Top Foods. |
Once again, we hope you
will join us on July 4th, 2009
at the City Park following the parade at our annual
Pop in-the Park Booth!
We will be selling
pop, chips, cookies, caramel corn, foundation T-shirts and
“The Edmonds Fire Department Celebrating 100 Years” book
before and during the Water-Ball Competition sponsored by
the Edmonds Volunteer Firefighters.

The 2008
Garage Sale
was well attended. We had a lot of wonderful items
donated and shoppers found a lot of treasures during the two
day sale. We want to thank Armadillo Self Storage for
providing storage units to hold the donated items until the
sale. We also want to thank Sound Disposal and the Nicholson
family for all their help before, during and after the sale.

 |
|
 |
The 2009
Annual Garage Sale will be July 24th and 25th,
9:00 am to
4:00 pm, at 520 Forsyth Lane, Edmonds.
We
are accepting donated items in good condition now for the
garage sale. Please contact our President, Greg Jorgenson,
at 425-772-8115 to make arrangements for the foundation to
pick up your donated items. Once again Armadillo Self
Storage, in Edmonds, has generously donated storage space to
hold the items until the sale in July.

Our 2008 Annual Raffle was
our most successful to date. The 1920’s-style pedal car Fire
Engine was a big hit with young and old. We were fortunate
to have other prizes donated by Anthony’s Homeport
Restaurant, Arnie’s Restaurant,
Baskin-Robbins, Mike’s Deli-Mart and Starbucks (downtown
Edmonds store). Coldwell Banker Bain employees each year
have been very supportive of this event and this year was no
exception. The raffle engine was on display at their office
most days and raffle tickets were always available for
purchase.

The grand prize winner
for the fire engine was Jane Hansen. |
