Fire and Rescue Equipment and Tools

Rad-57 Signal Extraction Pulse Co-Oximeter

Applied to the finger-tip, this device measures the blood carbon monoxide levels of residents with home CO detectors that are sounding, occupants who have inhaled products of combustion from a fire, and Firefighters fighting interior structure fires.

Thermal Imaging Cameras

Three hand-held camera systems allow Firefighters to see in absolute darkness or a smoke-filled room, detect hidden hot spots in a building, and identify thermal heat given off by a victim overcome by smoke.

Firefighter Personal Safety Vests

Reflective vests worn by Firefighters at emergency scenes that illuminate the wearer and improve safety and visibility. Especially useful after dark and during inclement weather.

Telescoping Safety Cones

Placed around motor vehicle collision sites, the illuminated cones provide maximum visibility, and collapse inward for ease of storing.

Road Safety Signs

Oversize, reflective roadway signs alert approaching drivers to accidents ahead and the presence of emergency vehicles and responders working at emergency scenes.

Heavy Rescue Tools

Amkus Rescue Tool and Push-Pull Ram are heavy-duty rescue tools that lift, cut, and spread to extricate victims from motor vehicle collisions, machinery, and structural collapse.

Specialty Power Tools

Tools that cut metal and other material to extricate victims from motor vehicle collisions, machinery, and structural collapse, and in oxygen-deficient environments include three circular saws, one electric chain saw, one sawzall, and 2 air cut-off tools.

Knifes

Handy, multi-purpose, belt-worm SOG Para-Tools issued to each employee.

Voice Amplification Units

Voice Amplification units allow clear radio communications between the dispatch center and emergency workers when Firefighters affix the amp unit to their self-contained breathing apparatus mask. The SCBA ensemble consists of air tight face piece, harness, and air tank.

Pump-Operator Radio Headsets

Five radio headsets allow the fire engine pump operator to monitor emergency radio traffic while receiving and delivering water during fire attack despite the noise that envelopes the area from the engine motor, pump supplying water and general din associated with emergency operations.

Emergency Incident Command Vest Sets

Several sets of reflective vests with imprinted incident command position designations – Incident Commander, Division Commander, Safety Officer, Public Information Officer, etc. Vests provide standardization, interchangeability between various command functions, and reduce storage space.

Bicycle Team

Purchased lights and siren for EMS Bike Team; acquired five pairs of Bike Team pants.
